Mother's Day

Mother's day comes with such mixed emotions for me. As a daughter, my heart still aches for my mom. It's been almost 17 months since she went home to her Heavenly Father. I believe that with time comes healing and realize I am still in that "healing" stage. There are not too many days that pass by without thoughts of her & wishing she were still here to be a part of our lives. The aching to see her beautiful smile, to tell me everything is going to be alright or good job Valarie, I'm proud of you. & the way she would touch my face when she couldn't talk anymore that told me "I love you so much." She was there all 48 years of my life-always encouraging, supporting, laughing, loving, & caring for me. She was selfless. She was my hero in so many ways. So on this Mother's Day I ask you dear Lord to give my mom the biggest hug, the gentlest touch on the cheek, and whisper in her ear that her daughter wishes her the best Mother's day, loves her, misses her and can't wait to see her again one day! As a mom I am honored and completely amazed at the blessings and joy that comes from being mom to Brennen and Rachelle. They both have showed me such grace, mercy and love throughout their lives. They hold me and cry with me through difficult times, they show me forgiveness when I mess up (a lot), they make me laugh, they make me cry, they laugh at my stupid jokes or when I crack myself up, they make me smile and they make me burst with pride at the life they have chosen to live. A life that follows after their Savior, a heart that loves their Savior and a passion to tell others about their Savior! They are not perfect kids by know means BUT I am not a perfect MOM either! I love them both to the moon and back and thank GOD that he has entrusted me to be their MOM! Know how much I love being your mom Brennen & Rachelle! You both are the best!!! Love you today, tomorrow and always, MOM <3
